With the rise of the Internet, it has gotten to be an even tougher racket for true outsiders who teach against the grain of conventional wisdom and are never wedded to a political correctness. Potential consumers of knowledge” are now able to find courses that sound similar to what I teach, for free! Nonetheless, those of us who seek authenticity and teach of our own authority have to make a living. Consider too an underfunded student who might be coming from a rural village in Nepal, Haiti or Tunisia. How do they pay for lodging, food and tuition, not to mention travel? And yet, these are the most important students I have. They are the future.
